My first post

I am a 51 year old man. Father of three great kids and husband to a beautiful, hard working and devoted wife Tina. We live in the mountains of Northern California. Tina and I are Real Estate investors and I am a real estate investing coach for foreclosures.com

I am a Conservative libertarian whose hobbies include all outdoor activities, my family and friends and politics and current events. I hope to stir up some debate of current issues amongst all kinds of like minded and totally different minded folks.

I see things from a limited government free market stance. I know I don't have all of the answers but I'd like to think I'm informed and engaged in the debate. Please challenge my thoughts. As I will challenge yours. Please do give me your thoughts on issues and lets have some fun. Let the games begin!

  2. Thanks Ken. I have a lot to learn but I want to eventually post articles of issues of the day and exchange comments. I also want to do a "point/counterpoint" with my liberal friends and have each side gain more insight (and hopefully some common ground) into how each side thinks. Please give me any ideas you see that will help me make this blog better.

  3. More people should dump their parties and sign up as independents.Extremes either left or right are no good. That is the problem with both parties. That is why I like Shwarzenegger. He is the most centrist politician I have ever seen.

  5. Great thought John. what are your thought on this? They certainly have shown some power. It will be interesting to see how the right and left react to this new phenomenon.

  6. I started this blog to be a place where all sides with many points of view can come and express their opinions on issues of the day with respect for all other views. Please help me make it better. Let me know topics you'd like discussed and add your input on topics and issues that concern you most. Please be nice. there is a lot of yelling out there and I hope for this blog to be a voice of reason in difficult times.

  7. OK...here I go...same age as owner of the blog...we grew up together. I agree with the post discussing the need to dump the labels. I know many people who are tired of the Dem/Rep, right/left, blue/red stuff. My point of view...politically would describe myself as a social liberal and fiscal conservative. I am an education professional and a healthcare professional. I have also run a private practice. Mine is one of the few I(if not the only) profession where it is possible to work in both the public and private sector simultaneously. So, the issues that are near and dear to my heart have to do with education and health care. I look at these from BOTH/ALL sides...recipient, provider, parent, etc. In addition to being an active professional, I am also a very involved parent with one child in college (and money-don't get me started about who gets grants and who DOESN'T-is touchy subject there), and one in high school. There is so much WASTE of our tax dollars. If anyone wants to discuss issues pertaining to education and/or health care, I will join the discussion.

  8. Great post Tracy. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. It would be great if you wrote an article on your thoughts on education and health care. That is exactly what I had in mind here. Thoughtful, caring, free thinking people in the trenches of life putting their point of view about the issues most dear to them. Then have others post their views (always with respect to dissenting points of view) on that topic. I want a healthy vigorous, even passionate airing of ideas in a safe (your among friends and we are all in this together) place.

  10. My profile is almost identical to Tracy. Age 51. I work in health care. I have 3 school age kids. I am social liberal, fiscal conservative. I believe that government must provide certain services e.g. Police & fire protection.but at same time, it cannot be all things to all people.
I believe that history has shown that giving tax breaks to the wealthy and large corporations does not improve the economy. It is the middle class and d
Small businessman that should be getting the attention. It is these groups that drive the economy.

  11. Lisa. I mostly agree with you, except the "tax breaks for the wealthy." I think they do a good job do dividing us and having different classes think the others are taking advantage. I am going to write an article and post it here further explaining my point. Thanks for posting Lisa. Please do so often on my articles and share your thoughts.
